L 7.0
Opt-out policy
Every way to switch us off, in one place: stop the contact, refuse the measurement, or have your details erased. Last updated August 2026.
You never have to explain why. Ask us to stop, in whatever words you like, and we stop.
This page exists because most opt-out instructions are buried three quarters of the way down a privacy policy, written in a register that makes asking feel like a formal proceeding. It should take one line and one minute.
There are four separate things you might want to switch off, and they are genuinely separate: being contacted by us, being counted by advertising measurement, having a record kept at all, and being asked again in future. Each is below, with what actually happens when you use it.
The short version
- Email info@sjoop.com with the word stop, or telephone (501) 555-0147.
- Tell us which of the four you want, or say “everything” and we will apply all of them.
- We confirm in writing within five working days.
No form to fill in, no account to create, no reason required, and no charge. We will not ask you to reconsider.
L 7.1 · Contact
Stop us getting in touch
We only ever contact somebody who contacted us first. There is no mailing list, no newsletter, no drip sequence and no purchased list, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from in the usual sense. What can exist is an open conversation about a parcel, and you can close it at any point.
Say the word and we stop calling and stop emailing, immediately and permanently, including the follow-up we would otherwise send after a site visit. You can also narrow it rather than end it — email only, no telephone, or nothing until you get back in touch yourself — and we will keep to whichever you set.
If you are on a federal or state do-not-call register, that already applies to us. Where the two differ, whichever is more restrictive wins.
L 7.2 · Measurement
Refuse advertising measurement
When paid search advertising is running, this website can load one third-party tag, from Microsoft Advertising, which counts page views and two events. It never receives the content of an enquiry. The cookie policy sets out exactly what it does.
You do not need our permission or our cooperation to refuse it, and that is the point worth making: the controls that work here are ones you hold rather than ones we grant.
- Block third-party cookies in your browser, or set it to clear them when you close it. Every current browser can do this and it is sufficient on its own.
- Use Microsoft's own advertising controls, which apply across every site running that tag rather than just this one.
- Install any content blocker. It will stop the tag loading at all, so nothing is ever set.
- Send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. We do not override it, and Microsoft honours it to the extent its published policies state.
None of these degrades the site. Every page reads identically, the form still submits, and nothing is withheld from you for refusing.
L 7.3 · Records
Have what we hold deleted
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Write to info@sjoop.com or to the postal address at the foot of this page.
For an enquiry that never became a project, deletion is straightforward and complete: the message, the details you typed and any notes we made go, and nothing is retained in a suppression file unless you have also asked us never to contact you again, in which case we keep the minimum needed to honour that — which is usually just an email address and the date.
Where we actually built something, some records have to survive. Contracts, invoices, inspection records, warranty documentation and the as-built photographs are kept for as long as tax, warranty and limitation-period obligations require. We will tell you specifically which categories those are and delete everything outside them.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not supply it to data brokers or lead marketplaces. There is therefore no sale or sharing for you to opt out of — but if that ever changed, this page would say so before it happened.
Handling a request
- What we need
- Enough to find you: the email address or telephone number you used, and roughly when. We will not demand identity documents for an ordinary deletion request.
- Who can ask
- You, or somebody you authorise in writing to act for you.
- How long
- Acknowledged within five working days, completed within thirty days, or sooner. If a legal retention rule blocks part of it, we say which part and why.
- What it costs
- Nothing, and there is no limit on how often you may ask.
- What it changes
- Nothing about how you are treated. We do not price differently, deprioritise or refuse to work with anybody for having exercised any of this.
L 7.4 · Afterwards
Staying opted out
An opt-out does not lapse. It has no expiry, it is not reset by a new advertising campaign, and it survives a change of staff or of system. If you contact us again yourself about a new parcel, that starts a new conversation and we will treat it as one — but the decision to restart is yours alone.
If you have asked us to stop and we contact you anyway, that is our error rather than a policy. Tell us and we will find out how it happened and say so.
The privacy policy covers what is collected and why. This page covers only how to switch it off.
Where to send it
Any of these reaches the same person. Nothing needs a particular subject line or a particular form of words — “take me off” is enough.
